New buds form on old peduncles of Hoya plants

By trimming cuts on a Hoya plant we increase the forming of new growing points on it.

However if we are talking about flower trims that include the peduncles ( stalks, the part inside the red circle on the picture ) , we prevent a new flower bud from forming later at the trimming point.

This is uncommon as in most plant genus new buds don't appear on old peduncles. In order to obtain beautiful fowering Hoya we should trim them to boost branching and not discard the old peduncles of the faded flowers.
